As many of you know, I've recently become a mommy this past year and I've been happy to share my experiences thus far. I was fortunate and blessed to have the opportunity to nurse, and I would never change it for the world. Aside from the immeasurable benefits for our babies development, and the well discussed benefits for the mommy, such as assisting with dropping the post baby weight and shrinking the uterus back to it's pre-baby size, there were some surprises. A few of you mommies out there may be able to relate when I say, I had no idea what was in store for me...
Nursing and a lack of sleep for the past 15 months has REALLY had a negative impact on my skin and energy levels. Mommy bags, Mombie etc., I relate with them all.
My sister gave me the perfect warning from her own experience. She told me to be prepared, baby's will literally "suck the life out of your skin." Now, as much as I absolutely love and adore nursing and spending time with my little Tiger, it motivated me and I was desperate to find a solution.  
As a Master Esthetician I've used my fair share of products to help prevent aging, increase supple, glowing and youthful skin. I've also taken initiative to live a healthier more in-tune lifestyle when it comes to nutrition and what ingredients I'm putting into my body. 
 
In addition to the skincare products in my daily regimen, it's so very important to begin "within." I want to share with you the supplements I've been taking for the past year that have really made a major impact for me. I personally feel better and look healthier. Of course, consult your Dr before taking any of my advice.
I'll leave links below for each of the 8 supplement products that I've researched and personally use currently. 
  
Let's talk skin:
 
  1. Vitamin E: works to block free radicals from the body, which play a large part in the aging process. If we can fight off free radicals, then we can reduce wrinkles and keep the skin youthful-looking.
  1. Collagen: is one of the most abundant proteins in the body and it makes up a large part of our skin, hair and nails. Technically a polypeptide, collagen contains a mixture of amino acids like proline and glycine, which are found in all connective tissue within the body (including vital organs!). It is what is responsible for giving skin elasticity, hair its strength, and connective tissue its ability to hold everything in place. In fact, the collagen protein makes up 30% of the total protein in the body, and 70% of the protein in the skin!
 3. Fish Oil: it's been proven to aid the body in weight loss, fertility, healthy pregnancy, healthy skin and increased energy. Most of the health benefits of fish oil are because it is one of natures' richest sources of omega-3 fatty acids like Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA)
 4. Biotin: thicken hair, nails and beautify skin. Biotin, or Vitamin B7, is a water-soluble vitamin that's a part of the vitamin B complex — a group of key nutrients needed for healthy metabolic, nerve, digestive and cardiovascular functions.
 5. Vitamin C: may include protection against immune system deficiencies, cardiovascular disease, prenatal health problems, eye disease, and even skin wrinkling.
 
Now Let’s Talk Energy and Over-All Mental Health:
Vitamin Cis also great for energy levels. Vitamin C is structurally similar to glucose and this will result in a sugar craving. As long as you can recognize this and provide your body with the better source(the vitamin not sugar) you’ll prevent crashing shortly thereafter.
 6. Spirulina: its superfood status means spirulina has many more benefits. Spirulina is a source of vitality and life energy. Consumers of spirulina usually notice an increase in energy and overall health. It supplies nutrients needed to cleanse and heal. Increases antioxidant protection, fights free radicals, fights the aging process, curbs appetite and promotes weight loss, supports health cardiovascular function, improves the digestion process and gastrointestinal health, creates beneficial flora in the digestive tract and makes the body produce more red and white blood cells which kill germs and viruses. 
  1. B-6: is needed for proper brain development and function and to make the hormones serotonin and norepinephrine, which affect mood. Vitamin B6 also helps the body make melatonin, which is important in helping regulate your internal clock.
  1. B-12: is a water-soluble vitaminthat keeps your nerves and red blood cells healthy. It is responsible for the smooth functioning of several critical body processes. It is possible for the body to develop a vitamin B12 deficiency. This deficiency is usually reported with symptoms of fatigue.
